I bet you can think back to a struggle you have had in your life, or a struggle that you might be in right now. It’s so hard right? The struggle is ACTUALLY real though..
So I’m gonna cut straight to the chase because I want to empower y’all instead of making you linger in your struggles.
There is HOPE.
Now you may be like “yeah right Melisa. There is literally not even one ounce of hope in my situation right now.” I completely understand where you are coming from. It may seem like your situation is pretty hopeless, but I promise you with all my heart that there is still hope for you and your struggle.
You see, from the very beginning of the Bible in Genesis when God gave the promise to Abraham that He would make him and his descendants a Holy nation, there were always moments that seemed hopeless. The first generation of Israel failed to enter the promise land that God had promised because of their sin and past. Just think about how hopeless that must have been for them, especially because they passed away without seeing the promise. BUT there was still hope for the people of Israel, because God made a new covenant, and He lead the generations to come to the land flowing with milk and honey. This covenant is the one that is super special, JESUS! The promise of Jesus!
God always promised His people a promise. Throughout the old testament He was leading His people to the ultimate promise, that is JESUS!
Why am I telling you all this history?
Because Jesus is the hope guys.
One of my favourite Bible verses is found in Hebrews and it says:
Hebrews 6:19- We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain
In the old testament, Moses built a Tabernacle which is a dwelling place for God, and it was basically a tent with many different elements that are VERY FASCINATING! Cause they all lead to Jesus! It amazes me so much! If you want to learn more about the tabernacle cause it truly is interesting, you can follow this link to some preaches my Church did a while back…
In the verse above, it mentions that this HOPE enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain. In the tabernacle, the Holy of Holy’s was behind the curtain, and this place was where the presence of the living God dwelled. Only the high priests were allowed back there once a year, so this room was Holy.
For me, this reallyyyyy shows me
Number one: That GOD IS SO FREAKING AMAZING!!
and Number two: That the hope we are searching for is JESUS!!!!
Let’s read the verse again so we can really take it in:
Hebrews 6:19- We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain
This verse is showing us that the HOPE is Jesus! The HOPE that enters behind the veil! And this hope that we have in Jesus anchors our souls. So that we can be secure in Him. Without Him, we would be wallowing in our struggles, and letting them overtake us. We would be drowning in our sorrows, and that is not what God wants for us!
He wants us to take hold of the hope, which is found in His son. The promise to all generations ever! Abraham, Moses, Joshua and countless others continued to have hope that God would fulfil His promise to His people (you and me) and the promise came to pass. The promise of Jesus. Your situation will not remain the way it is. There is hope!! This hope isn’t just for perfect people, this hope isn’t just for people that are already Christians. This hope is for EVERYBODY! Jesus wants to give hope to you. Yes you reading this right now. How amazing is that??
The hope is right in front of us. All we have to do is grab hold of it and never let go.
Yes, the struggle may be real, but with Jesus, it’s not hopeless anymore.
God promises that He will work all things together for good. Romans 8:28. This means even the hard times. He will use your struggle for your good! He will make you a stronger person through the struggle. He will lead you closer to Him during these times. Without the struggle, we wouldn’t be the people we are today. Without struggle, we wouldn’t become better. And without struggle, we wouldn’t appreciate the good times.
There is a purpose in the pain, and there is HOPE in the darkness.
It’s Jesus.
Are you gonna grab hold of this hope today?
